Lower Skittles Boulders is a bouldering area in West Virginia's Snake Hill Wildlife Management Area, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Skittle Top Boulders just 0.1 mile away and Pipsqueak Boulder and Nemesis Boulders within half a mile. The boulders here are all boulder problems, with five routes listed. They range from V3-4 to V9-10, and the hardest is the Death Crimp Project. The Cheat Cannon and It's Not That Hard are both V6, and Scream, Aim, Fire is V8. September is the most comfortable month to visit, with typical highs around 77°F and lows near 56°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station in Morgantown. That station sits about 450 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run a little cooler. The Ridge Trail is 0.6 mile away, and the Rattlesnake Trail and Canyon Rim Trail are each about 0.9 mile off.
