The Kurt Cobain Memorial Wall is a bouldering area in Coopers Rock State Forest in West Virginia, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with The Grunge Boulder, Pig Iron Boulder and the Furnace Area Boulders all about 0.1 mile away. The wall's climbing is all bouldering, with eight routes ranging from V1 to V5. The names of the routes are drawn from the grunge era, including "Come as You Are" at V1, "Alive" at V2 and "Unplugged" at V5. The V5 route, "Unplugged," was first climbed by Ray Weber. September is a comfortable time to visit, with typical highs around 77°F and lows near 56°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station in Morgantown.
