Fiddle Area is a bouldering area in Coopers Rock State Forest in West Virginia, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. It sits among a cluster of climbing areas, with Moby's Dick Area, Coral Area and Death Block Area all about 0.1 mile away. The name comes from the bouldering itself, and the routes here range from V0 to V7-8, with the hardest, Sloping Rail Direct, first climbed by Slab Justice Warrior in 2021. The climbing is all bouldering, and the area's 17 routes cover a wide range of grades. The easiest is Second Fiddle at V0, and the hardest is Sloping Rail Direct at V7-8. The median grade is V3, so climbers can find problems to suit a range of abilities. For timing, September is the most comfortable month, with typical highs around 77°F and lows near 56°F, based on averages from a nearby weather station in Morgantown. That station sits about 840 feet lower than the area, so temperatures here run cooler. The station also records about 10 wet days in September, the fewest of the year. The Cimbing Access Trail and Sunset Wall Trail are both within a quarter mile, and Ravens Rock Trail is about 0.3 mile away.
