BoulderCliff Area is a bouldering area in West Virginia, about 0.8 miles from the town of Neponset. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Powerline Boulders just 0.2 miles away and Alcatraz/Fontainzoo/Mattehorn about 0.3 miles off. The Brain Boulder and Lyman's Boulder are each roughly 0.4 miles away, so the area is easy to explore as a group of short bouldering objectives. The climbing here is all bouldering, with seven routes spread across the area. The grades run from V2-3 up to V5-6, with BoulderCliff L at V4-5 and The BoulderCliff Problem at V5-6. The routes are named simply, with BoulderCliff L and R and the L arete among the options. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from the nearby Bluestone Lake weather station show May highs around 76°F and September highs near 79°F, with fewer wet days in September than in May. That station sits about 400 feet lower than the area, so temperatures at BoulderCliff run a little cooler. Beyond the boulders, Rich Creek offers canoeing about 6.4 miles away, and the Pipestem Knob Trail and Knob Ridge hikes are both within about 8 miles.
