Weenie Hut Jr's is a bouldering area in Washington, about 5 miles from the town of Mayview. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Salty Spitoon just 0.1 mile away and Granite Point Boulders and Granite Point Roped each about 0.3 mile off. The area is all bouldering, with seven routes spread across a range of grades from V0- to V4. The bouldering here is a close-knit set of problems. The routes include Ledge Ladder at V0-, Dirty Upper Lip at V0 and Rumpshaker at V4, and they all sit within a few hundred yards of one another, making it easy to move from one to another in a single session. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical July and August highs reach about 85°F with only three or four wet days a month, while winter brings highs near 40°F and rain on about 13 days a month. Those figures are typical averages from a nearby weather station in Pomeroy, which sits roughly 1,150 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rocks run cooler. For more climbing, Salty Spitoon is right next door, and Granite Point Roped is close by. Union Flat Creek, about 8 miles away, offers canoeing.
