Rainbow Wall is a sport climbing area in Washington, set within the W.T. Wooten land unit and managed by State Fish and Wildlife. The climbing here is all sport, with nine routes spread across a range of grades from 5.8- to 5.10c/d. The area is best known for its routes on the Scab Slab and the Pot of Gold, both 5.8s, and for No Route for Old Men, a 5.10c/d that sits at the top of the grade range. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Pomeroy weather station show May highs around 67°F and September highs around 75°F, with July and August peaking near 85°F and the winter months bringing highs in the upper 30s and lows in the mid-20s. That station sits about 1,100 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the rock run cooler. Several campgrounds lie within about six miles, including Tucannon Guard Station, Forest Boundary Campground and Tucannon Campground. Paddlers can reach the Northwest Discovery Water Trail and the Tucannon River within about 8.5 miles.
