Mt. Shuksan is a climbing area in Washington's North Cascades National Park, within the Stephen Mather Wilderness. The National Park Service manages the land, and the area sits inside designated wilderness, so expect backcountry conditions. The climbing here is a mix of ice and alpine routes. Six routes are listed, with four of them ice and two alpine. The grades run from 5.2 to 5.4 on the YDS scale. The Beckey-Schmidtke route, first climbed by Fred Beckey and Clifford Schmidtke in 1946, is one of the more notable ones, and the SW Couloir and Face is another ice route at 5.2. The Nooksack Cirque Trail and Lake Ann Trail are both about 2.5 miles away. Shuksan Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 3.1 miles off. For an overnight base, Shannon Creek Campground is roughly 6.3 miles away.
