Southern Pickets is a climbing area in the Stephen Mather Wilderness, part of North Cascades National Park in Washington. The National Park Service manages the land, and the area sits within designated wilderness inside the park. There is no fee to visit. That makes it a straightforward base for a day or longer in the high country, and the surrounding park and wilderness offer plenty to pair with the climbing. The closest neighbors are the Northern Pickets, about 3.8 miles away, and the broader North Cascades climbing area, about 4.7 miles off. For a change from rock, the Davis Peak Trail and Luna Peak Route are both hikes about 6 miles away.
