JY Crag is a climbing area in the Wenatchee River Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Washington, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Nosebleed and the Eight Mile Area each about 0.1 mile away, and Crack du Jour at the same distance. The area has 10 routes, with trad and mixed styles making up the bulk. Grades run from 5.8 to 5.10c on the YDS scale, and one boulder route is listed. Among the named routes are Janetors of Justice at 5.8 and Six Digits in the Hole at 5.10c, with Armed Forces Crack at 5.10b. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Leavenworth show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 78°F, while July and August average about 87°F. That station sits roughly 900 feet lower than the crag, so temperatures here run cooler. The Eightmile Group Site campground is about 0.2 mile away, and Bridge Creek Group Site is about 1.1 mile off. Bruce's Boulder Trail and Snow Lakes Trail are both within about 2.5 miles.
