Gibralter Rocks is a climbing area within Steamboat Rock State Park in Washington, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among a cluster of climbing areas in the park, and the closest of them is Picnic Table Rock, about a tenth of a mile away. The area has eight routes, seven of which are sport and one mixed. Grades run from 5.9 up to 5.12c, with the hardest being Night in Tunisia at 5.12c. Baptism by Whipper is another 5.12b/c, and How Homer Got His Groove is a 5.10b/c. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Coulee Dam show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 77°F, while July and August average highs in the upper 80s. Nearby climbing includes Golf Course Wall and Roadside Rock East, both about a mile away, and Banks Lake / Northrup Canyon at roughly 2.4 miles.
