Banks Lake / Northrup Canyon is a climbing area in Washington, about 5 miles from the town of Osborne. The land is managed by the Bureau of Reclamation. The area holds nine routes, with sport climbing the most common style, and trad and mixed climbing also represented. Grades run from 5.6 up to 5.11a. Among the routes are Stroke Face (5.6 sport), Highway 2 (5.10a sport), and Men of Banks Lake (5.11a trad). Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 77°F, with July and August peaking near 88°F and only a few wet days each month.
