The Eight Mile Area is a climbing area in the Wenatchee River Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Washington, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among several named climbing areas, including JY Crag, Nosebleed and Veteran's Club, all within about a tenth of a mile. Eightmile Group Site, a campground, is about 0.2 miles away. The climbing here is a mix of mixed and traditional routes, with six routes in total. The grades run from 5.5 to 5.10b, and the hardest is Ghost Wall, a 5.10b trad route. The mixed routes include X-Crack-Right Finish at 5.5 and Y Crack at 5.7. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the sweet spots. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Leavenworth show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 78°F, with July and August peaking near 87°F. That station sits about 935 feet lower than the area, so temperatures at the crag run cooler. Nearby, Bridge Creek Group Site is about 1.2 miles away, and Bruce's Boulder Trail and Snow Lakes Trail are both within about 2.5 miles. Peshastin Creek, a paddling spot, is roughly 8 miles off.
