Crack du Jour is a climbing area in the Wenatchee River Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Washington, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing areas, with the Eight Mile Area and Nosebleed both about 0.1 mile away, and Eight-Mile Buttress, Lower, at a similar distance. The Eightmile Group Site campground is 0.3 mile off, making it the closest place to camp. The area has 11 routes, with grades ranging from 5.7 to 5.11a. Five are sport routes, four are trad, and two are mixed. Among the named routes are Flapjacks (5.7 trad), Booger (5.9+ sport), and The Clean White Bright Light of Forgiveness (5.11a sport). The hardest route, The Clean White Bright Light of Forgiveness, was first climbed by Sean Woods in 2008. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Leavenworth show July and August highs around 87°F with only about three wet days a month, while winter highs sit near 34°F. That station sits roughly 1,300 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up high run cooler.
