Bear Cave Crag is a climbing area in the Wenatchee River Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Washington, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Dildome about 0.2 miles away and Midnight Rock about 0.3 miles away, so it works well as part of a day spent exploring the surrounding crags. The area has six trad routes, all rated between 5.8 and 5.10-. Sweet and Low is the easiest at 5.8, and Double Wide and Gutterball are among the hardest at 5.10a and 5.10-. The routes were first ascended by Brad Metz and Danielle Szabo between 2007 and 2011. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Leavenworth show July and August highs around 87°F with only about three wet days a month, while winter highs sit near 34°F. That station sits roughly 1,600 feet below the crag, so temperatures at the crag run cooler.
