Rainier Vista is a short, front-loaded mountain biking climb in Washington, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. The route is an out-and-back that starts at about 2,434 feet and reaches a high point of 2,650 feet, with a total elevation gain of 356 feet over 2 miles. The steepest stretch comes early, around 0.34 miles in, with a grade of about 19 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Longmire show July and August highs in the mid-70s with only seven or eight wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days from December through February. Swamp Trail, a hike, lies about 0.9 miles away, and the Gotcha mountain biking route is about a mile off. Anvil Loop is roughly 2.1 miles away, and paddlers can reach Busy Wild Creek at about 2.8 miles.
