Ballard Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Methow Valley Ranger District of Washington's Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. It sits in the Methow Valley, and the nearest town is Mazama, about 7 miles away. The site has vault toilets, and a fee is charged for stays. That makes it a simple base for an overnight trip in the Methow Valley, with no running water or more developed amenities. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mazama show July and August highs around 84°F with lows in the mid-50s, while winter highs stay in the 20s. Robinson Creek Trail starts just 0.3 miles away, and the climbing areas at Nugget Wall and Recess Wall are each about 0.6 miles off. River Bend Campground is 0.7 miles away for a second camping option.
