Lone Fir Campground is a forested campground in the Methow Valley Ranger District of Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. It sits along Early Winters Creek on State Route 20, surrounded by mountains and set up as a good overnight spot for bicyclists. The site has vault toilets, and the next campground westbound is Diablo Lake. For the most comfortable weather, plan a visit for late spring through early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show highs around 75°F in June and 74°F in September, while winter highs stay in the 20s. That station sits well below the campground, so temperatures up here run cooler. The Early Winters Trail starts about 0.3 miles away, and the National Forest Development Road 400, a cross-country ski route, is about 1.3 miles off. Climbers can head to Silver Star and Wine spires, about 2.5 miles away, and paddlers to Early Winters Creek, about 3.6 miles away.
