Zoloft Boulder is a bouldering area in Virginia, set within the Appalachian National Scenic Trail and managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Middle Dragon, Mayflower Boulder and Right Corridor all about 0.1 mile away. The area is also close to McAfee's Knob Trail, which makes it easy to pair a day of bouldering with a hike. The bouldering here is all on the V scale, with eight routes ranging from V0 to V6. The easiest is Anxiety at V0, and the hardest is Tremor at V6. Side-Effect Linkup and Frequent Impotence are both V4. The names of the routes are as listed, and the grades are typical for bouldering in this part of the park. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Roanoke show May highs around 76°F and September highs around 79°F, while July averages about 86°F. That station sits roughly 800 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run cooler. Other nearby spots include the Arrow Boulder Area, the Catawba Greenway Trail and the Straight Branch Iron Mountain Shelter, about 5 miles away.
