Tipping Block is a bouldering area on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia, within the Glenwood and Pedlar Ranger Districts of the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest. The National Park Service manages the land, and the spot sits among a cluster of climbing areas. Egg Basket and Pebbles are each about 0.1 mile away, and the Harkening Hill Loop Trail starts roughly 0.7 mile off. The area offers six bouldering routes, all rated between V3-4 and V6-7. Precipice and The Short Straw sit at V4, Tipping Point is V5, and The Final Straw is the hardest, at V6-7. The Verge and Teeter round out the list, with the latter at V4+. Visitors can pair the climb with other outings. The Harkening Hill Loop Trail and Johnson Trail are both within a mile. Paddlers can head to Jennings Creek, about 4 miles away, and North Creek campground is roughly 6.3 miles off.
