About Haystack Mountain

Haystack Mountain is a summit in Vermont's Manchester Ranger District, part of the Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests. The nearest town is Chimney Hill, about 2 miles away. The Haystack Mountain Trail begins about a tenth of a mile from the summit, and the Deerfield Ridge trail lies under a mile off. Harriman Reservoir, roughly 6 miles out, has fishing, and the Deerfield River nearby is open for canoeing.
