Tacos Diablos Boulder is a sport climbing area in Utah's Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, within the Salt Lake Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the spot sits close to Devil's Castle and the Mandelbrot Trail, both about a tenth of a mile away. The climbing here is all sport, with five routes ranging from 5.6 to 5.13a. The most notable is Tacos Diablos, a 5.13a route first climbed by Tyler Phillips in 2005. Other sport routes include Pendejo at 5.11b and Guacamole at 5.12b. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from the nearby Alta weather station, which sits about 1,200 feet lower, put July highs near 73°F and lows around 50°F, while winter highs stay near freezing. The station's figures run warmer than conditions on the boulders, so expect cooler temperatures up high. Beyond the climbing, Devils Castle Spur and the Mandelbrot Trail start right beside the area. Albion Basin campground is about 0.6 miles away, and Lake Catherine offers fishing roughly 1.5 miles off.
