South of Chutes is a bouldering area in Utah's Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, within the Salt Lake Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land. The name is a location marker rather than a route, and the area sits close to two other bouldering spots, Blunder Boulder and Citizen Dildo Boulder, both about a tenth of a mile away. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Alta run to highs around 73°F in July, with lows near 50°F. That station sits roughly 1,300 feet below the area, so temperatures at South of Chutes run cooler. The routes here are all boulders, with grades ranging from V4 to V12. The hardest of them is Leap Year, a V12 boulder with a first ascent by Sasha JH. Year of the Lamb Cave Start is a V10.
