Simpson Rock is a climbing area in the Sanpete Ranger District of Manti-La Sal National Forest in Utah, managed by the Forest Service. It sits within a cluster of climbing spots and trails, making it easy to pair with other outings in the same corner of the forest. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Moroni run from highs around 71°F and lows near 37°F in May to highs around 66°F and lows near 32°F in October. That station sits well below the climbing area, so expect temperatures up high to run cooler. Several climbing areas lie just steps away, including Walls of Liberation and North Damascus Gate, along with the Right Fork Trail. Maple Canyon campground is about a third of a mile off, and the Middle Fork Maple Trail starts nearby.
