Scout Cave is a moderate out-and-back hike in Snow Canyon State Park in Utah, managed by State Park and Recreation. The route is about 5 miles long, with a total elevation gain of about 660 feet, and it rises from a low point of about 2,960 feet to a high of about 3,485 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in St. George show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 79°F, while July averages about 102°F and January lows drop to about 28°F. The trail starts close to several other routes. Gila and Paradise Rim are both within a quarter mile, and Cougar Cliffs, a climbing area, is about 0.7 miles away. The Santa Clara River, about 7.7 miles off, offers paddling.
