Santa Clara Access Road is an easy out-and-back hike in Utah's Dixie National Forest, within the Pine Valley Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route covers about 3.8 miles, with a one-way climb of 521 feet from a low point of 5,415 feet to a high of 5,948 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Veyo Powerhouse show May highs around 75°F and October highs around 71°F, while July averages about 92°F and January highs sit near 48°F. That station sits roughly 1,350 feet lower, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. The 8 Mile climbing area is about 2.3 miles away, and Baker Dam Campground is about 3.6 miles off.
