Old Juniper is a 10.3-mile out-and-back hike in Utah's Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, within the Logan Ranger District. The trail rises from about 5,394 feet to a high point of 7,264 feet, a gain of 1,854 feet, and it is rated hard. The trail is managed by the Forest Service, and its trailhead, Wood Camp Trailhead, sits in the Logan Ranger District. The route is a natural-surface trail that allows both bikes and horses. It is not accessible. The Forest Service reports the open season runs from June 1 to October 31. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Laketown weather station, which sits about 1,300 feet lower, show July highs around 81°F with lows near 51°F. That station records no snow days from June through August, and winter brings highs near freezing and regular snow days. Wood Camp Campground and Tab Hollow both lie about 0.1 mile from the trailhead, and Preston Valley Campground is about 1.7 miles away. The Mile 385 Area climbing area is about half a mile off.
