Oak Ridge is a moderate out-and-back hike in Utah's Fishlake National Forest, within the Richfield Ranger District. The trail runs about 4.4 miles round trip, climbing roughly 425 feet from a low point of 7,821 feet to a high of 8,249 feet. The Forest Service manages the surrounding land, and the route is natural-surface. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 80°F with lows near 53°F, while winter highs stay in the low 30s. That station sits about 700 feet below the high point, so temperatures on the ridge run a bit cooler. Bikes are allowed, so the route works for riders as well as hikers. Several other trails start close by: the Great Western Trail - Utah is about 0.2 miles away, and Dead Horse Spur #1 and #2 are within a mile. For an overnight stay, Gooseberry Admin Site Cabins is about 3.8 miles off.
