Lava Flow is an easy out-and-back hike in Snow Canyon State Park in Utah, managed by State Park and Recreation. The route is about 2 miles long, with a low point of 3,480 feet and a high of 3,802 feet, giving it a total elevation gain of about 184 feet. It's a short, low-effort walk that pairs easily with other trails in the park. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in St. George show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 79°F, while July averages about 102°F and January lows dip to around 28°F. That station sits roughly 945 feet lower than the hike's high point, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. Several other trails start close by. Whiterocks is about 0.2 miles away, and Butterfly and Petrified Dunes are each about 0.4 miles off. Climbers can head to West Canyon, about 1.6 miles away.
