Gap is a short, easy hike on Bureau of Land Management land in the St. George Field Office, about 2 miles from the town of Santa Clara, Utah. The route is an out-and-back of roughly 0.75 miles, with a one-way climb of about 50 feet from a low point of 3,044 feet to a high of 3,095 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in St. George show April highs around 75°F and October highs near 79°F, while July averages about 102°F. Several other hikes sit about 0.3 miles away, including Halfway Wash, Gecko and Turtle Wall. Climbers can find Shady Side West about 0.6 miles off.
