Bst Rattlesnake is an easy 1.4-mile out-and-back hike in the Salt Lake Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah. The trail starts at Rattlesnake Trailhead, which is open from May 1 through October 31, and it gains about 357 feet of elevation, from a low of roughly 5,347 feet to a high of 5,723 feet. The Forest Service manages the land. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows bikes and horses, and it is not accessible. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. At the nearby Mtn Dell Dam weather station, typical May averages run around 70°F for highs and 43°F for lows, and September is similar at about 79°F and 48°F. The station sits about 300 feet below the trail, so temperatures on the route run slightly cooler. Millcreek Canyon, a climbing area, is about 0.1 mile away, and Jug Haul Wall and the Pipeline Trail are each about 0.3 mile away. For a longer outing, Lake Florence and Jordan Pines Campground are both about 7 miles off.
