Bristlecone Trail is a short, easy hike in the Cedar City Ranger District of Dixie National Forest in Utah, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about a mile long and rises just 23 feet from its low point of 9,898 feet to a high of 9,922 feet, making it a gentle out-and-back that fits easily into a longer day in the area. The route is natural-surfaced and open to bikes, so it works for hikers and mountain bikers alike. It stays open year-round, and the closest town is Cedar City, about 30 miles away. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Cedar Breaks show July highs around 69°F with lows near 50°F, while winter highs sit in the mid-30s. The Virgin River Rim Trail passes within a mile and a half, and Navajo Lake is about 3 miles away for fishing. TE-AH campground and Deer Haven campground are both a little over 3 miles off.
