Silver Lake is a fishing lake in Utah's Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, within the Salt Lake Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the lake sits at about 8,740 feet, with a nearby weather station at a similar elevation. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the Silver Lake Brighton weather station, about 0.3 miles away, show July highs around 72°F and lows near 47°F, while winter highs stay around 30°F. The Silver Lake Nature hike and the Lake Solitude Trail both start about 0.1 mile from the lake. Climbers can find Millie Boulder about 0.4 mile away and Brighton Boulders about 0.5 mile away.
