Smith and Morehouse Campground sits on the western edge of the Uinta Mountains in northeastern Utah, within the Heber-Kamas Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the town of Oakley is about 12 miles away. The campground sits a short distance from Smith and Morehouse Reservoir, and the Smith and Morehouse Trail runs through the area. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 78°F with lows near 41°F, while winter highs stay in the low 30s. Vault toilets are the only facility on site, and a fee is charged for stays. The Shingle Mill Lake Trail and the Ridge Trail are both about 1.7 miles away, and Ledgefork Campground is about 1.9 miles away. For fishing, Beaver Lake lies about 8 miles off.
