Washington Lake Campground sits at 10,000 feet on the shores of Washington Lake, just off the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway in the Uinta Mountains. The byway passes through the Heber-Kamas Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, and the Forest Service manages the land. Vault toilets are the only amenity at the campground, and a fee is charged for stays. The site makes a convenient base for exploring the surrounding lakes and trails, with several destinations within a short drive. The Horeseman Access Trail and the Crystal Lake hike both start about 0.1 mile away. Trial Lake campground is about 0.4 mile off, and the Cliff Lake climbing area is about 0.7 mile away.
