The Gymnasium is a bouldering area inside Hueco Tanks State Park & Historic Site in Texas, managed by State Park and Recreation. The name points to a cluster of climbing problems rather than a single route, and it sits among several other climbing areas within a short distance. The bouldering here ranges from easy to more challenging. Eight routes are listed, all boulders graded on the V scale from V0 up to V6. Among them are Jimmy hats on parade and Solid pleasure at V0, Bad Axe at V1, and Suck In Dick at V6. The area is known as a boulderer's playground rather than a place for longer routes. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in El Paso show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 76°F, while June and July average highs of about 93°F with more wet days in July. Several climbing areas sit just a tenth of a mile away, including Sign of the Choss, The Stegasaur and Perverted Sanctuary. Hikers can reach the Pond Trail and the Nature Trail within a quarter mile.
