Deep Creek is a climbing area on the Cumberland Trail in Tennessee, about a mile from the town of Soddy Daisy. It sits among several other named climbing areas, including Main Wall, Tea and Crumpets Wall and Creekside, all within about a tenth of a mile. That makes it easy to pair with other crags in the same cluster. The climbing here is all sport, and the routes run from about 5.11a up to 5.12d. Bonsai! is a 5.11c, and Cool Watas' and Proof of Life are both 5.12d. The area's grade range puts it in the upper 5.11 to 5.12 bracket, so it suits climbers looking for a challenge on established sport lines. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Soddy Daisy show October highs around 70°F with lows near 47°F, and April is similar at about 71°F by day and 47°F at night. That station sits roughly 500 feet lower than the crag, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. For a change from the rock, Overlook Mine path is about a mile away, and Soddy Lake Loop is about 2.5 miles off.
