The Basement Boulder is a bouldering area within the Obed Wild and Scenic River in Tennessee. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Transformer Boulder, Lilly Boulders and Jr.'s Corner all about 0.1 mile away. The routes here are all boulders, and they range from V0 to V4 on the V scale. The easiest are Gnome Mobile and Go Dog Go at V0, and the hardest is Toe Jam Fettish at V4. Fall is a comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 70°F with lows near 43°F, and the station sits about 230 feet below the boulders, so temperatures on the rock itself run slightly cooler. The closest trails are Boulder Trail, about 0.2 mile away, and Lilly Bridge Trail, about 0.4 mile away. Rock Creek Campground is about 4 miles off, and paddlers can head to Rock Creek, about 6 miles away.
