Telegraph Trail is an easy hike of about 1.7 miles in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area in Tennessee, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back, and the round trip covers about 3.5 miles with a total elevation gain of 447 feet. The climb is steepest near the start, with a 13% grade at about 0.34 miles, and the trail reaches a high point of 581 feet before returning to the starting elevation of 471 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Dover show October highs around 71°F with lows near 48°F, and April highs around 70°F. July and August average highs near 88°F. Several other trails sit within about 1.5 miles, including Connector #4 N/s Trail, Devil's Backbone and Artillery Trail. Boswell Landing Campground is about 2.5 miles away.
