Peytona Trail is a 3.28-mile moderate hike in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area in Tennessee, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back with a total round-trip distance of about 6.6 miles, and the one-way climb gains about 428 feet, with the steepest stretch at about 0.66 miles in. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Dover show October highs around 71°F with lows near 48°F, and May highs around 77°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run a little cooler. Tennessee Ridge is about 0.6 miles away, and Devil's Backbone and Artillery Trail are both within about 2 miles. For an overnight stay, Boswell Landing Campground is about 4.4 miles off.
