Big Oak Cove Campground is a small Forest Service campground in the Tellico Ranger District of Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee, about 14 miles from the town of Andrews, North Carolina. It sits along Tellico River Road (FS Rd 210), one of several small campgrounds on this stretch of the road. The campground has 11 campsites, each with a picnic table, fire ring and lantern post. The Tellico River runs just feet away, making it easy to wake up and start fishing. The site is not reservable, so plan on arriving and securing a spot on the spot. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Andrews, North Carolina, run from highs around 70°F in April to 72°F in October, with summer highs in the mid-80s. That station sits about 800 feet lower than the campground, so temperatures here run a little cooler. Rough Ridge Campground and Holder Cove Campground are both within a third of a mile.
