About this water

Pactola Reservoir in the Black Hills is South Dakota's deepest reservoir and a top destination for rainbow trout, brown trout, and kokanee salmon. The clear, cold water supports excellent trout populations and the reservoir is regularly stocked by SDGFP. Trolling with spoons or still fishing with PowerBait near the dam face are popular approaches.
