About this water

Lake Thurmond, also known as Clarks Hill Lake, straddles the South Carolina-Georgia border and is one of the largest reservoirs in the Southeast at over 70,000 acres. The lake is renowned for its striped bass, largemouth bass, and crappie fisheries, with numerous USACE-managed public access points. Spring crappie fishing around brush piles and docks is particularly productive.
