About this water
Lake Russell is a 26,650-acre reservoir on the Savannah River managed jointly by SCDNR and GADNR, known for its outstanding striped bass and largemouth bass fisheries. The lake's deep, clear water and extensive rocky shoreline provide excellent habitat, and it is considered one of the top striper lakes in the region. Public boat ramps are available at Calhoun Falls State Park and other USACE access points.
