Board Bottom is a short, easy mountain biking ride in Mauch Chunk Lake Park in Pennsylvania, about half a mile from the park's center. The route is an out-and-back with a low point at 968 feet and a high of 1006 feet, so the entire trip rises and falls by about 89 feet. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.18 miles into the ride, peaking at a 2% grade. It's a compact, low-commitment outing that works well as a quick stop in the park. The most comfortable months for riding are typically late spring through early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Lehighton show June highs around 78°F and September highs around 73°F, with July the warmest at about 82°F. That station sits roughly 550 feet below the ride's elevation, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. Nearby, the Orchard Trail is a hiking option about 0.2 miles away, and the Intergalactic Planetary and Bob's Option mountain biking trails are within a mile. For climbing, Gorgeous Rocks is about 2.6 miles off.
