Youngs Rock is a summit of 4,909 feet in the Middle Fork Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest in Oregon, about 15 miles from the town of Oakridge. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at a similar elevation show July and August highs around 73 to 74°F with only about three wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days. The Young's Rock Trail #3685 starts less than a mile away, and Moon Point is about 1.4 miles off. Warner Mountain Lookout and Campers Flat Campground are both within about 3 miles, making them good options for an overnight base.
