Walts Wall is a sport climbing area in Oregon's Willamette National Forest, within the McKenzie River Ranger District. It is managed by the Forest Service and sits among several other climbing spots. The Hydrotube Area and NW Corner are both about a tenth of a mile away, so the wall fits naturally into a day of climbing in this cluster. The 12 sport routes here range from about 5.8 to 5.11b, with the median grade at 5.10a. Paradicey, a 5.10a, and What's My Line, a 5.11b, are among the named routes. First ascents are recorded for some, including Deep Pockets (1994) and Harp of Stone (1986). Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Odell Lake weather station show July and August highs around 73 to 74°F, with only about three wet days a month. Winters are cold and snowy, with snow on roughly 10 days a month from December through February. Nearby, Indian Ridge Lookout is about 2.6 miles away, and Indian Ridge hike is about 3.6 miles away. Delp Creek, a paddling spot, is about 3.5 miles off. French Pete Campground is about 6 miles away for anyone planning an overnight stay.
