Northeast Oregon is a climbing area in the Prairie City Ranger District of Malheur National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. It sits in eastern Oregon, about 7 miles from Dixie Campground and roughly 8 miles from the John Day River. The area has one climbing route, Large Ear Direct, an alpine climb rated 5.5 on the YDS scale. It is the only route listed here, and it falls within the alpine style. For a base, Dixie Campground is about 7 miles away, and Oregon Campground is about 9 miles away. The John Day River offers canoeing at a similar distance, and the Davis Creek Trail #244 is about 8 miles off for a hike.
