Burnt River Canyon is a climbing area in Oregon on Bureau of Land Management land within the Vale Baker Field Office. It sits among several named climbing areas, with Mother's Day Wall about 0.1 mile away and Timewave Wall about 2.5 miles off. The canyon holds 14 routes, mostly sport climbs with one trad route. The YDS grades run from 5.6 to 5.12+, with the median at 5.9. Among the sport routes are Betty's beach house at 5.6, Wasp at 5.11- and Murder Hornet at 5.12+. The trad route, Sectumsempra, is 5.8. Summer is the warmest stretch. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Baker City show July and August highs around 88°F with only three or four wet days a month, while winter highs stay near freezing.
