Garden Cliffs

Garden Cliffs is a climbing area in Oregon, about 5 miles from the town of Foster. The place is built around a cluster of boulders and routes, with several named climbing areas right beside it, including Fight Club Boulder, Azain Boulder and Boys in the Woods Boulder, all about 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is mostly sport, with 46 sport routes and 3 traditional routes among the 49 routes listed. Grades range from 5.4 to 5.13- in the YDS system, with a median of 5.11a/b. The hardest route is Butterfly Effect, a 5.13- sport climb first done by Evan Powers in August 2019. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from the nearby Cascadia weather station, at a similar elevation, put July and August highs around 79 to 80°F, with only about four wet days a month. Winter is cool and damp, with highs in the mid-40s and rain on roughly 19 days a month. Within a few miles you can also find the Cascadia Day Use hike, the Whitcomb Creek paddling route and the Lower Soda Creek Falls Trail.
