Upper Soda Falls
About
Upper Soda Falls is a waterfall in Linn County, Oregon, about 2.1 miles from the small community of Cascadia. It sits in the hills above town, making it a short outing for anyone already passing through the Cascadia area. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Cascadia show July and August highs around 79 to 80°F with only about four wet days a month. That station sits well below the falls, so temperatures at the waterfall itself run cooler. Winter is markedly wetter, with roughly 19 wet days a month and highs in the mid-40s from December through January. Several other outings lie close by. The Lower Soda Creek Falls Trail is about a mile away, and the River Trail is just beyond it. Paddlers can head to Moose Creek, roughly 4.7 miles off. Groups looking for an overnight base can use Longbow Organizational Camp, about 5.4 miles away.
